Building a Foundation
The Lake House Guest Cottages of the Berkshires is a waterfront, boutique cottage resort offering an all-season charming and tranquil escape with a luxurious feel for weekend wedding destinations, event venue and family vacations.
As a new luxury resort, the Aliste team started working with the Lake House before they completed the cottages and opened for guests. Our mission was to establish them as the go-to vacation and event venue for families, couples, friends, and retreats in the Berkshires.
Prior to working with Aliste, The Lake House had a working website that spoke to a different market, was not utilizing a blog or social media and did not have a strategy for engaging in print or online marketing. Our team began building the foundation of the Lake House marketing strategy by creating a luxury resort branding identity guide that would pull all efforts into a cohesively branded message from font type, logo and overall experience.
A Strong Digital Presence
Working with the Lake House to hone in on the exact guest that would stay at the resort, we developed buyer personas that impacted the logo creation and end design that represents who the Lake House experience is for.
The new logo showcased the rustic luxury experience we wanted guests to feel. The logo was the catalyst for the new Lake House website which was completely redesigned with updated user capabilities, interactive graphics, engaging resources and blog articles in addition to the recreation of website copy that included keywords to improve SEO.
The current website featured strong calls to action and resulted in 40,000 website views in a 6-month period, 35% up compared to previous period. Users and sessions have also grown by over 40%.
Engaging Online Content
Acting as their marketing department, on an ongoing monthly basis, the Aliste team is generating credible, resourceful, and engaging online content to be used in all social media marketing, email marketing, enticing blog articles and public relations outreach.
We create an editorial calendar specific to The Lake House based on a combination of keywords and trending topics to both the local area and the hospitality industry, focusing strongly on who their target guest is. We invite guest bloggers on a regular basis to grow the readership even further such as curating a series written by a Lake House bride-to-be, who will be featured on an upcoming season of TLC’s Say Yes to the Dress. This guest blogger is documenting the entire wedding planning process in an edgy and fun manner while hitting a chord with other brides on the experience.
The Aliste team is constantly looking for new and unique ways to create and use content, as well as repurpose it in the most efficient and effective way possible. Emails have an over 34% open rate and over 14% click through rate (industry average is 14% open rate and 6% click through rate).
Consistent Luxury Resort Branding
The Aliste team integrated Hubspot with The Lake House marketing to further improve the reach of their marketing efforts as a luxury brand. We researched and created buyer personas, guests and travelers, that have different needs, interests and wants in a destination location. Through the detailed storyline of the target guests, content offers were created that specifically spoke to those needs and wants further positioning The Lake House as the go to resort in the Berkshires.
For example, a branded wedding checklist was designed for the event guests while an interactive Berkshire tourism guide provided information for prospective travelers and family vacations. For the last 6-month period, landing Pages yielded over 300 views—with a conversion rate of up to 10%.
Our design team has generated all print and web advertisements, guide inclusions, brochures, gift guides, online promotion graphics and bridal show exhibit. Aside from the Aliste teams work on the online marketing campaigns, we took the consistent luxury resort branding to the parking lot entrance, branded uniforms and apparel for guests, custom programed iPads that enhance the visitor experience, branded zip drives containing all information for the prospective bride, stickers on all the company vehicles and equipment on the property, and locally sourced toiletries and welcome gifts for all guests.
Branding is creating a feeling that you want your ideal client or customer to feel when they purchase or engage with your business. With the Lake House that was imperative whether the guests viewed us online or drove by the resort.
